Inhalt

The Dark Side of Hollywood is a documentary looking behind the scenes of Hollywood’s low-budget movie industry and is a powerful portrait of the fragility of fame and the cost of stardom. B-Pictures have long been the spawning ground of today’s and tomorrow’s stars. They started the careers of Jack Nicholson and Sylvester Stallone among many others, as well as now superstar directors Francis Ford Coppola, Peter Bogdanovich, Ron Howard and James Cameron. The film contains scenes of over 30 sex and violence B-pictures and interviews with: Julie Strain, actress and Penthouse Pet of the Year, Lisa Boyle, actress and Playboy cover girl, Maria Ford, actress in more than 40 feature films, and producer/directors Fred Olen Ray, Arlene and Andy Sidaris and Jim Wynorsky. Film moguls Roger Corman and Samuel Z. Arkoff discuss the modern low budget industry’s origins and the many careers they started.
