f_filmsBackThe Week Elvis Died, GB 1997

Inhalt

Set in England in the 1970’s The Week Elvis Died is an evocating and bittersweet look at life from a child’s point of view.
Karen’s dad has just died, but Julie and her Gang still bully her. Her family is too immersed in their own grief to help, so she doesn’t confide in them. Life is hell. All she has for comfort is her pet rabbit Elvis and her hero worship of Elvis Presley and the country’s most famous DJ, Tony Blackburn.
Tony Blackburn is scheduled to come to Karen’s school to do a radio broadcast of the recorder group. Karen is ecstatic when she is picked out to speak on his show, but Julie and her Gang cruelly put an end to her brief happiness.
The day of Tony Blackburn’s broadcast comes and, live across the airwaves, Karen does something no-one will ever forget.
