NICE, VERY NICE ist Claire Denis‘ Beitrag zur Gemeinschaftsproduktion „A propos de Nice, la suite“ zu Ehren des Films „A propos de Nice“ von Jean Vigo aus dem Jahr 1930.
Ein junger Mann mit einem „Auftrag“ bahnt sich seinen Weg durch den Karnevalszug in Nizza und tötet einen Araber. Der Film suggeriert ein Klima der Gewalt, die unter der scheinbar entspannten Atmosphäre und dem mondänen Lebensstil der mediterranen Stadt lauert.
