Juni 1967 in Madrid, begann ihre Karriere in den 80er Jahren als Schauspielerin. In \u00fcber 15 Filmen spielte sie bislang die Hauptrolle, z.B. in &#8222;El Sur&#8220; (ES\/FR 1982) von Victor Erice, &#8222;Malaventura&#8220; (ES 1988) von Manuel Guti\u00e9rrez Arag\u00f3n., &#8222;Un paraguas para tres&#8220; (1992) von Felipe Vega. F\u00fcr ihre Hauptrolle in Ken Loachs &#8222;Land and Freedom&#8220; (GB\/ES\/DE 1994\/95) wurde Ic\u00edar Bolla\u00edn f\u00fcr den Preis der Besten weiblichen Darstellerin nominiert. 1991 wird sie Teilhaberin der Filmproduktionsfirma La Iguana, f\u00fcr die sie mehrere Dokumentarfilme als Regieassistentin und Drehbuchautorin realisiert. 1995 deb\u00fctierte Ic\u00edar Bolla\u00edn mit ihrem ersten Spielfilm &#8222;Hola, est\u00e1s sola?&#8220;, der in Spanien zu einem \u00fcberragenden Kinoerfolg wurde.
