engagiert. 1985 ist sie Gr\u00fcndungsmitglied der Filmveranstaltungs- und K\u00fcnstlergruppe Wand 5 e.V., die sich mit Untergrundfilmen und Multimediaprojekten besch\u00e4ftigte und bis heute jedes Jahr das Filmfestival Stuttgarter Filmwinter veranstaltet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-default su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Mehr<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nach dem Abbruch eines Literatur- und Philosophie-Studiums in Berlin und Stuttgart beginnt Gronenborn 1990 ein Studium an der Hochschule f\u00fcr Fernsehen und Film (HFF) in M\u00fcnchen, Schwerpunkt Dokumentarfilm. W\u00e4hrend des Studiums inszeniert sie bereits diverse Dokumentar- und Kurzfilme sowie Musikvideos und ist am M\u00fcnchner Off-Theater &#8222;Ex Libris&#8220; als Regisseurin t\u00e4tig. Nach einem Zwischenspiel als Filmkritikerin f\u00fcr das M\u00fcnchner Online-Magazin &#8222;Artechock&#8220; und Auslandsaufenthalten geht sie 1995 nach Berlin, wo sie f\u00fcr die Produktionsfirma DoRo Musikvideos realisiert.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Im Jahr 2000 gibt sie mit dem Jugenddrama &#8222;alaska.de&#8220; ihr Kinodeb\u00fct. Der Film wird auf mehreren internationalen Festivals gezeigt und erh\u00e4lt unter anderem einen Deutschen Filmpreis und einen Bayerischen Filmpreis, jeweils f\u00fcr die Beste Regie. Nach einem Beitrag zu dem Omnibusfilm &#8222;99 Euro Films&#8220; (2001) kommt 2005 mit &#8222;Adil geht&#8220; Gronenborns zweiter Langfilm in die Kinos. Das Fl\u00fcchtlings- und Freundschaftsdrama &#8222;Adil geht&#8220; feiert beim Filmfestival Max Oph\u00fcls Preis Premiere, wo es mit dem &#8222;Interfilm Award&#8220; ausgezeichnet wird. Im gleichen Jahr schreibt und inszeniert sie f\u00fcr den tragikomischen Episodenfilm &#8222;Stadt als Beute&#8220; das Segment &#8222;Ohboy&#8220;. Vier Jahre sp\u00e4ter legt Esther Gronenborn mit dem Drama &#8222;Hinter Kaifeck&#8220; mit Benno F\u00fcrmann und Alexandra Maria Lara ihren dritten Langfilm vor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Born in Oldenburg\/Germany in 1966. Started making her own films at the age of 17. Took a degree in literature and philosophy at the Universities of Berlin and Stuttgart. Founder member of the film event and artist group known as Wand 5 (&#8222;Wall 5&#8220;). Also studied documentary film at the TV and Film Academy in Munich.
