Oktober 1972 in Wien, studiert Regie an der Filmakademie Wien, wo sie 1996 den Kurzfilm &#8222;Flora&#8220; realisiert, der auf mehreren internationalen Festivals l\u00e4uft und unter anderem mit dem Preis &#8222;Leoparden von Morgen&#8220; des Locarno Filmfestivals ausgezeichnet wird. Ihr 50-min\u00fctiger Abschlussfilm &#8222;Inter-View&#8220; (1999), das semidokumentarische Portr\u00e4t eines jungen Mannes, der durch Interviews \u00fcber den Sinn des Lebens Kontakt zu seinen Gespr\u00e4chspartnern sucht, wird auf der Cin\u00e9fondation in Cannes ausgezeichnet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Im gleichen Jahr gr\u00fcndet Hausner gemeinsam mit den Filmemachern Antonin Svoboda und Barbara Albert und dem Kameramann Martin Gschlacht die Produktionsfirma coop99, unter deren Label nicht nur die Filme des Gr\u00fcndungs-Quartetts entstehen, sondern im Lauf der Jahre auch Arbeiten anderer, namhafter Regisseure wie Michael Glawogger und Hans Weingartner.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-default su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Mehr<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2001 legt Jessica Hausner mit &#8222;Lovely Rita&#8220; ihr viel beachtetes Langfilmdeb\u00fct vor: das psychologische Drama \u00fcber eine Teenagerin, deren Verlassenheitsgef\u00fchl sich in einer scheinbar sinnlosen Gewalttat entl\u00e4dt, wird in der Sektion &#8222;Un Certain Regard&#8220; des Cannes Filmfestivals uraufgef\u00fchrt; bei der Viennale 2001 erh\u00e4lt der Film den Wiener Filmpreis. Auch Hausners zweiter Langfilm &#8222;Hotel&#8220; (2004) feiert in Cannes in der Sektion &#8222;Un Certain Regard&#8220; Premiere. Von der Kritik hoch gelobt, erh\u00e4lt die meditative Horrorfilmstudie den &#8222;Gro\u00dfen Preis&#8220; beim Grazer Filmfestival Diagonale sowie den &#8222;Grand Prize of European Fantasy Film in Silver&#8220; des Leeds International Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mit ihrem poetischen Drama &#8222;Lourdes&#8220; wird Hausner 2009 in den Wettbewerb des Venedig Filmfestivals eingeladen \u2013 und erh\u00e4lt gleich vier Preise: den FIPRESCI-Preis der internationalen Filmkritik, den Signis-Preis der \u00f6kumenischen Jury sowie den La Navicella- und den Brian-Preis. Wenig sp\u00e4ter folgen der Wiener Filmpreis bei der Viennale 2009 sowie der Warsaw Grand Prix beim Warschau Filmfestival 2009.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:
