Februar 1971 in Leonberg, begann zun\u00e4chst ein Studium der Wirtschaftswissenschaften, bevor sie 1993 an die Hochschule f\u00fcr Fernsehen und Film in M\u00fcnchen ging, die sie 1999 mit dem Diplom f\u00fcr Film und Fernsehspiel abschloss. Sie inszenierte einige Kurzfilme sowie Musikvideos und war Mitarbeiterin der Comedy-Sendung &#8222;Wochenshow&#8220;. Nach dem Gemeinschaftsprojekt &#8222;Honolulu&#8220; (1999), bei dem sie sich die Regie mit f\u00fcnf Kommilitonen teilte, erregte sie Aufsehen mit der jugendlichen Dreiecksgeschichte &#8222;Vergiss Amerika&#8220; (2000), f\u00fcr die sie neben weiteren Preisen den First Steps Award erhielt. Auch &#8222;Engel und Joe&#8220; (2001) erhielt mehrere Preise. F\u00fcr Radio Bremen drehte sie 2003 den Tatort &#8222;Der schwarze Troll&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-default su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Mehr<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bei der Berlinale 2006 feiert Jopps dritter Kinofilm &#8222;Komm n\u00e4her&#8220; in der Sektion Panorama Premiere. Der genau beobachtete Ensemblefilm \u00fcber eine Reihe h\u00f6chst unterschiedlicher Berliner Charaktere und ihre Suche nach Liebe erntet hervorragende Kritiken, geht bei seiner Kinoauswertung jedoch leider etwas unter. Mit &#8222;Meine sch\u00f6ne Bescherung&#8220;, einem Remake des schwedischen Erfolgsfilms &#8222;In Bed With Santa&#8220; (1999), inszeniert Jopp 2007 eine starbesetzte Ensemble-Kom\u00f6die. Trotz publikumswirksamen Schauspielern wie Heino Ferch und Martina Gedeck blieb der Film jedoch bei der Kritik und an den Kinokassen hinter den Erwartungen zur\u00fcck.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">F\u00fcrs Fernsehen inszenierte Jopp die Ingrid-Noll-Adaption &#8222;Ladylike &#8211; Jetzt oder nie&#8220;. Monica Bleibtreu und Gisela Schneeberger verk\u00f6rperten darin zwei alternde Damen, die eine Frauen-WG gr\u00fcnden und ihren Lebensunterhalt durch kleinere und gr\u00f6\u00dfere Gaunereien bestreiten. 2013 startete dann Jopps &#8222;Der fast perfekte Mann&#8220; in den Kinos, eine Kom\u00f6die \u00fcber einen unsteten Frauenhelden (Benno F\u00fcrmann), der sich pl\u00f6tzlich um seinen Neffen k\u00fcmmern muss.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Weniger als ein Jahr sp\u00e4ter kam bereits Jopps n\u00e4chster Film in die Kinos: Die Liebeskom\u00f6die &#8222;L\u00fcgen und andere Wahrheiten&#8220; (2014) handelt von mehreren P\u00e4rchen, die sich w\u00e4hrend einer Hochzeitsfeier ihren Lebensl\u00fcgen stellen m\u00fcssen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Vanessa Jopp, born in 1969, studied at the Academy for Television and Film &amp; Film (HFF) in Munich from 1993-1999. She directed several shorts, also made music videos and has worked for the comedy show WOCHENSHOW. Together with five other HFF students, she co-directed the episodic film HONULULU (1999).
